RelatedIntegrated Ph.D. in Physical Sciences

Bose Institute is a national pioneer in research on astroparticle physics and cosmic rays, foundations of quantum physics and interdisciplinary physics. Many of our alumni have become reputed experts in their fields. High-quality research is presently carried out in the department in the areas of biophysics, complex systems and network science, condensed matter physics, astroparticle physics, high energy physics, interdisciplinary physics, materials science, nuclear physics, quantum information and statistical physics. Details about research in physical sciences can be found on the individual faculty pages in the institutional research programmes on (i) basic and applied problems in physical and environmental sciences, and, (ii) complex systems.

Students are admitted annually for integrated Ph.D. in physical sciences through an interview conducted by the Institute. Applicants should have qualified JEST, in which Bose Institute is one of the participating institutions. Applicants should have a minimum CGPA of 6 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in overall percentage as well as in the major subject or percentage equivalent converted from CGPI/CPI in B. Sc.
